Job Description

We are seeking a 2nd year University student who is after an industrial placement (sandwich course) to work on a number of internal projects supporting our global HR team. The successful applicant will gain valuable commercial experience in our exciting and fast-paced company, they will gain an insight into the day to day running of the HR department and Office Management.


The HR function works closely with the finance team and from time to time, you may also be asked to help them out. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast growing and reputable global software provider to gain a real insight to what real-world situations in the workplace is truly like and how to deal with them.


We are looking for a professional and enthusiastic candidate who has a strong desire to learn more about the all the aspects of HR and general day-to-day skills which will improve your confidence. The company is constantly going through changes so there’s never a dull day at AAM. The role reports into the HR Director.


HR Work

Working with the HR team you will be involved in all aspects of the day to day running of a busy HR department including, but not limited to the following –

  • Management of HR System including processing starters, leavers and employee changes in time for the monthly payroll.
  • Overall responsibility of recruitment processes and managing our recruitment partners
  • Overseeing monthly payroll
  • Create contracts and offer letters
  • Undertake administration of company benefits and schemes.
  • Ensuring HR documentation is filed in a prompt manner.
  • Various HR Compliance project administration
  • General ad-hoc HR and office administration tasks
  • Monthly reporting


Office Management/Admin

The office needs someone to take care of it and make sure all runs smoothly when it comes to looking presentable, and making sure employees have all they need to be able to work on a daily basis. This role will include:

  • Ordering stationary
  • Liaising with the facilities team of the building regarding office maintenance
  • Making sure post is sent out using a franking machine
  • Delivering post to employees
  • Making sure all kitchen cupboards are filled with essentials
  • Ordering fruit on a weekly basis
  • General kitchen/office maintenance
  • Ensuring the office and meeting rooms look presentable


You must have excellent listening and communication skills to effectively understand the business, provide value-added assistance where asked, and become a valuable asset to the team. In addition to this you will have a strong work ethic and the ability to learn quickly.


Continuous, on-the-job training will be provided.


Required Skills…

  • An open, enthusiastic and positive attitude towards all tasks and duties assigned.
  • Available to work in the Hammersmith area.
  • Be studying towards a major in HR or Business Studies.
  • Availability for a full 1 year industrial placement from July 2017
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) and SAP are a plus
  • Happy and engaging on the phone to potential, employees, prospective clients and suppliers.
